Many businesses fail because entrepreneurs don't plan. Effectively.

Establishing a business plan is great, but it is an EFFECTIVE business plan?

An effective business plan allows them to effectively communicate their vision.

I read a business plan should be 38-50 pages long. Think how many HOURS that takes!

There are a TON of business plans available for entrepreneurs to begin the business planning journey. But, WHY is a business plan needed?

I mean, entrepreneurs know what they want to accomplish in their business?

So why waste the time?

The answer is simple, business plans keep priorities, priorities. They keep the vision, mission, and implementation on track for growth.

So what is an EFFECTIVE business plan & how do you create a "to the point" business plan? 38-50 pages are great, but are you scaled to need 38-50 pages to get your vision across?

Remember, a business plan is not the same as the Standard Operations procedures or policies. The SOP is the daily operational guide for independent contractors, employees, volunteers, or interns. As a new entrepreneur, you are probably doing the work yourself, so your business plan doesn't need all that, yet. Little by little, of course, establish the SOP & policies, but it is not needed immediately in the business plan.

The fact is the Business Plan must FIT the business need. Have you ever heard of K.I.S.S?

Keep It Simple Stupid (K.I.S.S)

Keep the business plan simple. Don't overthink EVERY aspect. Paragraphs don't need to be 2 pages long. NO ONE wants to READ all that. It's boring. Get to the point. K.I.S.S.

Keep the business plan REALISTIC. In other words, can it be implemented? Every business plan ought to include tasks, deadlines, dates, forecasts, budgets, and metrics. Measurable data. Can you complete the tasks & deadlines in the timeframe you have provided? Remember this is YOUR business. YOUR dream. Do it YOUR way with YOUR REALISTIC deadlines.

Does the deadline define responsibilities for implementation? If you are a solo entrepreneur, you are most likely assigned all the tasks for YOU to accomplish. This is where DELEGATION comes in. Yes, you can accomplish all the facets of your business, but you don't have all the time, experience, or education.

OpCentral Virtual Business Solutions
Delegate the tasks & deadlines to collaborators & online business managers who will support your business growth.

While you're growing your business, SHARE, the business plan with people who are supporting your business growth. Everyone who touches the BRAND should know your business plan. Not necessarily the specifics, but at least the ultimate goals along with the tasks & deadlines to keep the business on track.

COLLABORATE. Build a team you trust. A team doesn't need to be on the payroll. A team could be the independent contractors & other businesses you have partnered or collaborated with. Partner with people who are committed to your cause.

A business plan is a living document.

The business plan is not created once & then tossed to the side. Daily pull it out and review the metrics, review the mission & vision YOU have for the company. Update it and change it as needed. As your business grows the business plan grows to match the need.

You got this & I believe in your abilities to be amazing!
